This policy explains how COFAX uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.
Current use
At launch, COFAX does not intentionally deploy advertising, behavioural profiling or audience-measurement cookies to ordinary readers. WordPress and the hosting environment may use strictly necessary technologies for security, load balancing, logged-in administration and saving essential session state. The login screen may use a test cookie to check whether a browser accepts cookies.
Strictly necessary technologies
- Authentication and security cookies for authorised editors and administrators.
- Session and preference storage needed to deliver a requested feature.
- Security controls used to detect abuse, prevent cross-site request forgery and protect form submissions.
These technologies are used only where necessary to provide or secure the service. Where consent is not legally required, we still provide clear information about their purpose.
Optional technologies
If COFAX introduces analytics, advertising, personalisation, embedded-media tracking or similar non-essential technology, it will update this policy and deploy an appropriate consent mechanism before setting or accessing it where consent is required. Refusing optional technologies will not block access to news content.
Browser controls
You can delete or block cookies using your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login or other requested features from working correctly.
